EASTLEIGH-based Peveril Sixth Form College are mixed hockey champions, after winning the Association of College’s Mixed Hockey Regional Finals held at Southampton Sports Centre.
On Wednesday, November 17, the mixed hockey team played four other colleges in the south east region, winning each of their matches to claim the title of regional champions.
The Barton Peveril squad beat Peter Symonds College 4-1, Godalming College 3-1, Farnborough Sixth Form College 3-1, and Esher College 3-1.
After their success in the regional tournament, the mixed hockey team have qualified for the National Finals where they will face the nation’s other regional champions.
Speaking on his team’s performance, Barton Peveril Teacher of Sport, Paul Yeates, said: “This was an excellent team performance.
“The team were fully focused from the start and once they beat Peter Symonds in the first game they were full of confidence and unstoppable.”
