Naga Munchetty is to "leave" BBC Breakfast for a radio show on a rival broadcaster amid behind-the-scenes allegations of "bullying".
It has been reported that the star is on the verge of leaving the programme and that her representatives are in talks with LBC for a future role.
This comes after it was revealed that she is the fourth highest paid woman at the BBC.
The corporation's annual pay disclosure report found that she earned between £355,000 and £359,000.
Naga Munchetty reportedly leaving BBC Breakfast
However, it has been reported that she is considering a move away from the broadcaster after allegations of "bullying" on BBC Breakfast.
Show director Richard Frediani was at the centre of this and faced scrutiny from an independent consultant over claims of a "draconian" management style and misconduct, according to The Daily Record.
Discussing Naga Munchetty's potential exit, an inside source told The Sun: "The fallout of Frediani's investigation created a stark 'him or her' narrative on Breakfast with Naga flung to the front line.
"The fact is she loves the BBC and her job, but there's only so much external noise anyone is prepared to take.
"LBC would suit her well as the focus remains on news-led broadcasting, they take a hard line and there's far less of the fluffy nonsense involved in working at the BBC."
Following the investigation, Richard Frediani returned to his role after a prolonged absence.
It is currently understood that he faced two complaints of misconduct.
A BBC spokesperson told The Express: "While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously."

Munchetty hosts BBC Breakfast three times a week alongside Charlie Stayt.
She has hosted the show since 2014 and is now one of the most well-known presenters at the BBC.
The broadcaster also has a Radio 5 show and has been heavily involved in past election coverage.
