Netflix's annual Tudum event took place on Saturday (May 31), featuring announcements about some of the platform's biggest titles, including Stranger Things, Squid Game and Wednesday.

The live event, hosted by Sofia Carson, took place at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, and not only featured announcements about upcoming series and films, but also musical performances from the likes of Lady Gaga and Hanumankind.

Tudum is described by Netflix as a "global fan event" which is named after the iconic sound that plays at the start of every Netflix movie, series or live event.

The first Tudum event was held in January 2020 at the Bienal Pavilion of São Paulo, Brazil.

There were eight major announcements at Netflix Tudum 2025:

Stranger Things 5

Netflix released a first-look trailer for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things as part of its 2025 Tudum event.

It also revealed the final season would be released in the UK in three parts:

  • Volume 1 (four episodes) - November 27 (1am UK time)
  • Volume 2 (three episodes) - December 26 (1am)
  • The Finale - January 1, 2026 (1am)

Netflix added: "It won’t be much longer now before your favorite nerds take on Vecna in what promises to be one last epic ride through Hawkins, Indiana."

Squid Game (season 3)

Several Squid Game cast members, including Lee Jung-jae (Gi-Hun) and Lee Byung-hun (Front Man) took to the Tudum stage on Saturday to drop the official Squid Game season three trailer.

The third and final season of Squid Game will premiere on Netflix on June 27, 2025.

Wednesday (season 2)

Wednesday fans were gifted a clip showing the first six minutes of Wednesday season two, starring Jenna Ortega.

The new series of Wednesday will be released on Netflix in two parts on August 6 and September 3, 2025.

Happy Gilmore 2

Happy Gilmore is back, with the sequel to the popular Adam Sandler movie coming to Netflix on July 25, 2025.

As part of Tudum 2025, fans were treated to the debut of the official trailer for Happy Gilmore 2.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

Daniel Craig is set to return as Benoit Blanc in a brand new Knives Out mystery - Wake Up Dead Man.

He will be joined by another star-studded cast in this new film, including:

  • Kerry Washington
  • Cailee Spaeny
  • Daryl McCormack

Craig and writer-director Rian Johnson unveiled a sneak peek at the third installment in the Knives Out saga at Tudum 2025.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will premiere on Netflix on December 12, 2025.

One Piece

Netflix fans were given a sneak peek at season two of One Piece at Tudum 2025, including the first glimpse of Tony Tony Chopper (voiced by Mikaela Hoover).

The new season of One Piece will be released on Netflix in 2026.

Frankenstein

Netflix also dropped an exclusive first look teaser trailer for new film Frankenstein, which is directed by Guillermo del Toro and stars Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth.

Frankenstein is set for release on Netflix in November 2025.

The Rip

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will also star in a new Netflix movie titled The Rip, a teaser for which was released at Tudum 2025.

However, the teaser has since been "confiscated", according to Netflix.

The Rip will be coming to Netflix on January 16, 2026.
