Sainsbury's shoppers have slammed a decision by the retail giant to close all its in-store changing rooms.
All Sainsbury's changing rooms are now closed, meaning customers must now buy clothes from the supermarket chain's TU clothing range, try them on at home and return those that don't fit.
The change is said to have quietly begun back in September last year.

Shoppers haven't taken too kindly to Sainsbury's decision to close its in-store changing rooms, with many simply saying: "You've just lost another customer".
One person, posting on X (formerly Twitter), said: "@sainsburys #sainsburys Why have all the changing rooms been closed?
"My wife won’t buy anything she can’t try on as it’s a trek to return anything. You are losing sales."

Another customer added: "@sainsburys why spend money on building new changing rooms at Cobham Sainsbury’s & then close them!
"So you expect me to spend extra money to buy multiple sizes and then make another trip to return the items I don’t need.
"Well done Sainsbury’s you’ve just lost another customer."

A third person commented: "@sainsburys why on earth do you have a clothing department but no changing rooms?
"A staff member has just told me they have been removed from all stores?"
Sainsbury's replied to this post on X, revealing the decision to close all its changing rooms was to "simplify and rescue tasks in stores".
The spokesperson continued: "However, you can purchase items of clothing and return them for an exchange or refund within 30 days (within our refund policy)."

The Sainsbury's shopper didn't seem to agree with the spokesperson's replying, commenting: ""It doesn't simplify things for customers though. Particularly for people who can't get to your shops very often.
"It's a shame as I like the clothing range but won't be buying clothes there again."
Sainsbury's explains change is to create "best possible" shopping experience
A Sainsbury's spokesperson has revealed the decision to close all its fitting rooms was made so it could offer "the best possible experience" for its customers.

The spokesperson said: "Customers are increasingly choosing to try on items at home and last year we reviewed how we use our fitting room space differently to offer the best possible experience when they shop with us.
"Customers can return any unsuitable or faulty items during their store visits.”
