Lorraine Kelly is one of the most famous names involved in daytime TV in the UK, and she discussed using that platform to talk about her struggles with menopause.
The 65-year-old was giving an exclusive stage talk at this year’s Ideal Home Show when the topic was brought up.
She mentioned how her Lorraine chat show was looking for a high-profile woman to discuss menopause.
In the end, she ended up swapping chairs with expert Dr Hilary Jones and was interviewed herself.

Lorraine Kelly discusses issues with menopause
Kelly said: “We asked a lot of high-profile women if they would they come on and just chat about menopause for us?
"Because I was going through it myself, and I was finding it quite a struggle. I was feeling a bit flat and not myself, and I couldn't really understand what was going on.
"And in the end, we couldn't get anybody so Dr Hilary and I just swapped seats, and he interviewed me about it.
“At that time, I think there was a lot of other women who were ready to actually get this out into the open. And now, of course, everybody talks about it. Let's just talk about things and not be embarrassed.
"I was sort of worried to start with about raising it as an issue as work for discrimination or ageism. I think we've got better.”
“It normalises it for us, and the response from viewers was huge, absolutely huge. And what a relief, great relief.”
On dealing with menopause symptoms on TV she said: “It's just wonderful having Dr Hillary and Dr Amir [Khan] on tap. He knows everything about everything, I was able to talk to him and get [Hormone Replacement Therapy] patches.”
