Barclays has issued an urgent warning to British customers over a "little-known" rule.
Responding to a user who slammed the credit limit policy as something that "makes no sense," the major bank issued some words of advice.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one customer asked: "@BarclaysUKHelp After the online system didn't work twice, I went into the branch, I've now been sent an email to say my credit limit is staying at £200!
"You charge me £20 monthly just to have the card & I have a great credit score & decent income! How does that make any sense!?"

According to Birmingham Live, Barclays messaged back, telling the disgruntled user: "Hi there, Jay, I hope you're doing okay. I know this information isn't what you were hoping for, and I'm really sorry for any upset caused this really wasn't our intention.
"We regularly carry out reviews on all our Barclaycard accounts to help make sure the credit limit you have is correct and affordable, in the event this isn't the case we may take action to reduce this to make sure you're not left in any financial detriment.
