An axed Emmerdale star has made a cryptic "swipe" at ITV bosses over her exit from the programme.

Last month, Suzy Merton (played by Martelle Edinborough) was killed off in a long-running storyline involving a limo crash.

This tragic scene saw 10 characters fight for their lives with Suzy sadly being killed off after hitting her head.

Since then, Martelle has taken to social media to make an apparent dig at the showrunners.

A third added: "There was so much potential for a Mary/Suzy storyline. I'm disappointed it wasn't explored more."

Another penned: "I hope many doors will open for you. May your light always shine bright."
