Tesco has been forced to apologise to customers after confirming it has discontinued one of it's milk products.

Tesco is the biggest supermarket chain in the UK and the fourth cheapest behind Aldi, Lidl and Asda.

Several big name brands have discontinued products recently including the likes of Aldi, Cadbury and Coca-Cola.

Coca-Cola confirmed last year Coca-Cola Cherry Vanilla and Diet Coke with Splenda had both been discontinued.

Cadbury axed several products from its range in 2024 including its Festive Friends Chocolate Biscuits, a decision which fans said had "ruined" Christmas.

While fellow supermarket giant Aldi also discontinued a number of products recently including its Moser Roth Vegan Blonde chocolate bar (100g) which was described by fans as "literally the best chocolate ever".

Now Tesco has confirmed it's British Whole Milk 3.408L (6 Pints) has been discontinued.

Shoppers have taken to social media questioning why they have been unable to find the milk product recently.

(Image: Tesco) One person, posting on X (formerly Twitter), said: "Can I ask @Tesco why you don’t sell the six pints of milk anymore…… certainly not home delivery.

"Are you scamming us again?"

A Tesco spokesperson, responding to the post, commented: "Good afternoon, thanks for getting in touch.

"Tesco British Whole Milk 3.408L, 6 Pints has been discontinued. I'm sorry f[o]r any disappointment."

The now discontinued Tesco milk proved to be a favourite amongst shoppers with some describing it as the "best drink ever made".

Another person, reviewing the British Whole Milk 3.408L on Tesco's website, commented: "First of all it’s big and long lasting, I always buy this milk I would say because of this milk I shop from Tesco, every one at my home likes only this milk no other milk in my house, even my parents never buy any other milk apart from this one.

"Every week I buy 5,6 bottles of this milk."

But it's not all bad new for fans of Tesco British Whole Milk as smaller cartons are still available online and in stores across the UK - including 1.13L, 2 Pints and 2.272L, 4 Pints.

Aldi axes beauty product

Aldi also added another product to its list of recently discontinued items late last month, confirming it's Hot Cloth Cleanser has been axed.

To which an Aldi spokesperson replied: "Hi Sue, we have looked into this for you and can confirm that the Hot Cloth Cleanser has been discontinued.

"We're sorry for any disappointment this causes."
