If you’re like me, you probably spend most of the year dreaming about all the designer perfumes you want to add to your collection - Giorgio Armani’s Si, YSL’s Black Opium, and the list goes on.
But the truth is, they cost a fortune and you’re looking at spending at least £100 per bottle which for most of us isn’t financially affordable, no matter how good we want to smell.
However, I’ve discovered a hack that means you can get your hands on some of the most popular designer perfumes, technically for “free”.
You just need to pay £7.99 for a one-of-a-kind (very adorable) perfume bottle, also known as a Perfume Pod.
And it’s all thanks to Superdrug.
How I got designer perfumes for just under £8 at Superdrug
I recently came across this trusty tip by “Britain’s Coupon King” @couponkiduk over on Instagram, and as a rather bleak January and February continued, I was desperate to see if it worked to cheer me up.
So I headed to my local Superdrug after checking online to see if they had the viral Perfume Pods in-store.
To my delight, finding them in the shop couldn’t have been easier thanks to an incredibly friendly and helpful customer service assistant.
As he saw me pacing up and down the perfume counter trying to locate the Perfume Pods, he kindly came over and asked if I needed any help.

The Superdrug employee unboxed the Perfume Pods from behind the counter (I went for two in the end due to how impressed I was with the price) while he gave me as much time as I needed to choose what scents I wanted.
Now, the perfumes you can choose from will depend on what your local store has – plus, only specific bottles can be used due to how the Perfume Pods are filled up with the nozzles (watch my handy TikTok above to see how it’s done).
I should also note that the Perfume Pods can only be filled up once at the point of purchase.
I went for the original Daisy by Marc Jacobs and Flash by Jimmy Choo (Image: Molly Court/Newsquest) In the end, I went for some classics – the original Daisy by Marc Jacobs and Flash by Jimmy Choo, as they remind me of my early 20s and I haven’t sprayed them in years – what a treat.
I can’t get over just how amazing these Superdrug Perfume Pods are – they are great to chuck into your handbag when on the go or travelling.

They offer such a good “pick me up” when out and about too.
Depending on what perfume you’re after in Superdrug, this could be a useful hack if there was one you wanted to try without committing to buying the whole bottle.
