Viewers of the Saturday night BBC show, Gladiators have been left outraged after branding the show as ‘too harsh’.

It comes as the show is in full swing for its second series and saw members of the public take on tough challengers against the Gladiators.

In the latest edition of the BBC show, some viewers spotted that the Gladiators seem to be ignoring the rules.

During different games referee Mark Clattenburg was forced to pause and tell Gladitors off for not following rules.

The referee also eliminated two Gladiators during the Gauntlet challenge including Apollo and Sabre.

Reacting to the acts from the Gladiators one fan said: “These gladiators are simply refusing to play by the rules tonight!!"

Another said: “Is that like a second time that Sabre has been disqualified while being involved in Gauntlet?"

One more said: “Happy and a little annoyed at Sabre getting send off there."

A final BBC viewer said: "it's so annoying when the Gladiators break the rules."

The rebooted show pulled millions of viewers onto BBC One when it first aired in 2024 after last airing on ITV between 1992 and 2000.

The BBC edition is hosted by father and son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh and sees members of the public attempt physically and mentally tough challenges while trying to beat the Gladiators.
