Nestle has issued an update on the future of Drifter chocolate bars after several queries on social media asking if they were making a comeback.
The confectionery company is well known for a wide range of chocolate products including Smarties, Quality Street, KitKat and Milkybar.
Nestle axed several products from its range in 2024 including:
- Breakaway and Yorkie biscuit bars
- Yorkie Orange chocolate bars
- Rowntree's Randoms Squidgy Swirls
- Smarties Buttons
- Quality Street Collisions chocolate bar
- Quality Street Matchmakers Honeycomb
Nestle fans call for the return of Drifter chocolate bar
But it's another discontinued Nestle chocolate bar fans have been calling on the company to bring back recently.
Nestle's Drifter bars were discontinued in 2018 due to "changing consumer preferences".
Discontinued UK chocolates and sweets
Seven years on and fans are still asking the whereabouts of the popular chocolate bar.
One person on X (formerly Twitter) posted: "@NestleUKI do u guys make drifters anymore?"
While another fan, posting a picture of a Drifter chocolate bar, commented: "@Nestle Please could you consider bringing back these great chocolate bar please."
Unfortunately it wasn't as popular as others in the range so it's been discontinued. Sorry you're missing it.

While others have taken to social media to question Nestle's decision to axe the Drifter bar from its range.
One X user said: "@NestleCare why have you stopped making drifters? They were lush and much better than twix."

While another added: "Drifters. I’ll never forgive @Nestle for this travesty #TradesTalk."
There is even an online petition calling for Nestle to bring back the Drifter chocolate bar, which has received more than 2,000 signatures (at the time of writing).
Nestle issues update on the future of Drifter chocolate bars
Nestle has been responding to fans on X, alerting them to the fact Drifter bars have in fact been discontinued and assuring them they will pass on their calls for its return to the rest of the team.

With the popularity surrounding the chocolate bar still evident, we asked Nestle if there were any plans to bring it back to stores across the UK.
A Nestlé spokesperson said: "Drifter bars were last available in 2018 when it was delisted due to changing consumer preferences. Of course, confectionery tastes and trends change all the time.
"Nestlé confectionery has announced an exciting line of new products for 2025, including Rowntree’s Jelly Tots Tangy flavour and KitKat Hazelnut four finger bars.”
