How often have you walked into a supermarket in December or early January, seen Easter eggs on the shelf and thought to yourself 'wow, they're out early'? Well you're not alone.
Shoppers have already spotted chocolate eggs from the likes of Cadbury, Nestle, Lindt and Terry's in stores across the UK ahead of Easter 2025.
Some Easter treats were even out before Christmas, mixing in among Quality Street, Celebrations, Heroes and Roses tubs.

Cadbury reveals reason why Easter Eggs come out so early
One of the first Easter Eggs to be spotted on shelves ahead of Easter 2025 were Cadbury's White Creme Eggs and Mini Eggs.
These Cadbury Easter treats were spotted in B&M stores in early December (2024).
But Mondelēz International (Cadbury owners) has revealed it is not always the company's decision as to how early Easter eggs hit supermarkets, as retailers are free to choose when products appear on shelves.
A Mondelēz International spokesperson explained: "Most of our range will be available from January 2025, through to Easter and as long as stocks last.
"Due to supply chain reasons, some products will be on shelves a little earlier than that."
Is it too early for Easter eggs?
Upon spotting the two Cadbury eggs in early December, shoppers took to social media to say it was "far too early" for the Easter treats to be on supermarket shelves.
Commenting on a Facebook post from Newfoodsuk, one shopper said: "Too early for Easter eggs give us are break for God sake we’ve not yet got Christmas out the road and new year yet and you showing us Easter eggs come on Cadbury's this is ridiculous
"Stop advertising. Easteregg we don’t care and we don’t want to know."
Another person added: "Late for last Easter or early for next?"
