Beloved Great British Bake Off icon Mary Berry has revealed the proper way to store your eggs before cooking with them.
This comes amid a long-running debate between Brits and Americans over this very issue.
Most people in the UK opt to keep their eggs on the kitchen counter while those in the States prefer the fridge.
However, the former GBBO personality has weighed in, sharing her take.
Mary Berry shares the proper way to store your eggs
Mary Berry's Complete Cookbook advises households to keep their eggs in the fridge, breaking with years of British tradition.
The TV personality wrote: "Store eggs in their box in the refrigerator (away from strong foods so that they do not absorb flavours and odours through their shells)."
She added: "If you place them pointed end down, the yolk will remain centred in the white. Always use them by their use-by date."
According to the Mirror, Jenny Kelly, a specialist from Essential Food Hygiene UK has echoed the former Great British Bake Off star's sentiments.
However, she recommended that households avoid keeping their eggs in one of the door compartments as they are more likely to go off prematurely here.

Sharing other ways to store eggs, Mary Berry said it was also acceptable to place them in the freezer where they can last for up to six months.
She said: "Shelled raw eggs freeze very successfully, and can be stored for up to six months."
