Heineken discontinues beer fans said was "superior" to the original
However the company has now confirmed Heineken Silver has been discontinued after just two years in the UK.
Heineken Silver was launched in the UK back in 2022 and was sold in pubs and supermarkets.
The "premium lager", which has a 4% ABV, was described as "extra-refreshing" and was lagered at -1°C for a "crisp flavour and subtle finish", Heineken said on it's website.
The drink proved popular among Heineken drinkers, with some describing the beer as "superior" to the original.
One person, reviewing the beer on the Tesco website, said: "Dont normally like heineken but this was surprisingly nice!! Will buy again."

Another review read: "Tried this for the first time after being offered it as part of a promotion and ive got to say i’ll defiently be buying it again.
"Lovely crisp ref[r]eshing taste, great for a summer day."
While a third shopper commented: "Tastes a little superior to normal heineken. Would buy again."
But Heineken has now revealed Heineken Silver has been discontinued as it looks to focus on other beers in its range in 2025.

A Heineken spokesperson, speaking to The Sun, said: "The decision was made after careful consideration of market conditions and as a result, we are substantially increasing our investment in Heineken Original and Heineken 0.0 in 2025.
"Prioritising these brands will allow us to better serve the needs of our customers and consumers moving forward."
This decision didn't seem to go down well with fans.
One drinker, posting on X (formerly Twitter), said: "Heineken silver being discontinued, what a s**t start to the night. Underrated bevvy."
