Strictly Come Dancing judges Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood have revealed exactly what the BBC show means to them as part of a 20th anniversary documentary.

The latest series of Strictly - which concluded last Saturday (December 14) with Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell taking home the glitterball trophy - marked the show's 20th anniversary.

To celebrate the occasion the BBC aired a documentary - Strictly Come Dancing: 20 Fabulous Years on Saturday (December 21) night.

The documentary went behind the scenes showing off iconic moments and interviews from past couples/professionals/judges as they delved into 20 years of Strictly Come Dancing.

Strictly judges reveal what the BBC show means to them

The Strictly documentary concluded with celebrities, professionals and hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly explaining how much the show means to them.

Katie Piper, who took part in Strictly back in 2018, described the BBC series as "fun, glitzy and glamourous".

GMB presenter Ed Balls said: "I will always remember it as one of the most special times in my life."

While Gemma Atkinson added: "Because of Strictly I've got a husband to be (professional Gorka Marquez) and two amazing children."

But the judges had the final say, summing up how important Strictly has been to them and the British public.

Mabuse said: "At the end of the day, it's love. That's what Strictly is."

Ballas added: "It just puts you on that absolute high, it's a beautiful way to spend a Saturday with you loved ones."

"So I owe everything to Strictly Come Dancing."

Revel Horwood finished by saying: "There is only one word for me that can sum up my whole journey and that's got to be fab-u-lous."
