A family claim they bought the UK's 'most expensive hotdogs ever' at a Christmas market - after being charged more than £600 for two sausages.
Laura Brumpton, 34, and her husband Alan Brumpton, 37, took their two kids to enjoy festive markets in Nottingham last week and treated them to two Frankfurt sausages.
However the dad tapped his phone on the card machine without checking the amount - so the couple were 'shocked' to realise he'd forked out £618 instead of the £18 owed.
The 'apologetic' vendor said she was refunding the couple £600 - but Laura says it's yet to land in Alan's bank account.
Taking to TikTok, the mum shared video footage of the hotdog stand owner refunding her husband captioned 'imagine this though', which has now gone viral with over four million views.
In the clip you can hear the vendor saying 'refunded £600. I'm so sorry' before Laura holds the receipt showing how they were billed the astonishing sum.
Many users commented that Alan should have received a full refund because of the 'inconvenience' while one user joked that it was a 'bargain' at the Christmas markets.
Other users warned to 'always check' the card reader before paying.
Laura, who lives in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, said: "They were the most expensive hotdogs ever.
"I was very shocked. I just couldn't believe it. £18 just for two hotdogs is a lot of money as well.
"My husband just got his phone on apple pay and just tapped it. I don't even know if he looked at it. Just a habit of tap and she was like 'oh my god, I'm sorry'. It was £618.
"He checked his bank and it went straight away. I thought it would bounce straight away. I did think there was a £100 limit.
"I jokingly said 'does that mean we get free sausages for the rest of the year'. I thought 'if I don't laugh about it…'."
The mum-of-two revealed the vendor promised to refund the money after she realised her mistake but is still waiting for the money to reach his account.
Despite still having to pay for the sausages, their kids, 14-year-old Ryley and 10-year-old Florence, enjoyed the food regardless.
Laura, who runs the cleaning business Isle Clean, said: "The vendor was very apologetic. It was an honest mistake.
"She said 'I can give you a refund. It should take about an hour'. But it's still not there now. It's a lot of money to be missing just before Christmas as well.
"It's just typical of our family. We have a lot of bad luck. And around this time of year. It's a bit of a thing - don't go out the house because anything could happen around Christmas.
"We were still charged for the sausages. I thought, especially because it was for the kids, I thought they'd at least get a free sausage.
"It was just a very expensive family day out. The kids actually said they tasted good."
Many users were quick to point out the 'inconvenience' to the parents.
One user said: "I can't believe she didn't refund the full amount for the inconvenience and error."
Another user said: "£600 is a bargain for two hot dogs at a Christmas market."
A third user said: "£18 for two hotdogs is crazy."
Other users warned that people should 'always check' the amount before they pay.
One user said: "This is why you should always check what they've typed in before you put your card on the reader."
Another user said: "Imagine not looking at the machine first to check."
A third user said: "What about the people that don't notice if that happens."
