The festive season is arguably the most important time of the year for the retail industry, from supermarkets making sure they have the best Christmas food on the shelves, to stores offering a range of perfect presents.
But with shops filled to the brim with Christmas items and dozens of eager shoppers filling their baskets, it can be very tiring for retail workers.
Plus, often during the Christmas period, many shops extend opening hours to give everyone enough time to shop, meaning even longer working hours for staff.
Though staff at shops and supermarkets will be getting Christmas Day off from work, many will be working either Christmas Eve or Boxing Day, and sometimes both, leaving little time to recover.
However, in recent years some shops have decided to make a change to Christmas opening hours as many now close on Boxing Day as well.
Stores including Aldi, The Range and Home Bargains have confirmed they will be closed on December 26 to give staff a break and close early on Christmas Eve.
Some UK shoppers say all shops should close while others say they should stay open on Boxing Day.
