From supermarket giants Morrisons and Sainsbury's to major restaurant chains Las Iguanas to TGI Fridays, lots of places offer free or £1 kids meals during the festive season.

School holidays are the perfect time to treat the family to a nice meal out but it can sometimes be expensive, especially with the other costs of the Christmas period.

Luckily there is a range of places you can go this December where kids eat for free or £1 so you can eat out without breaking the bank.

Where kids can eat for free or £1 during Christmas holidays

Morrisons

For £3.95, kids can enjoy a Turkey Christmas Dinner with all the classic trimmings (except brussel sprouts) and a drink or as part of Morrisons' Kids Eat Free initiative, families can pick up one kids’ meal free with an adult meal over £5.

Bella Italia

Kids can eat for free at Bella Italia restaurants all day every Thursday. If you visit between 4pm and 6pm Sunday to Wednesday, kids can indulge for £1.

TGI Fridays

Kids eat for free all day every day at TGI Fridays restaurants. They get one free kids meal when ordered with an adult main. This offer is available to new and existing Stripes Rewards (loyalty scheme) members.

Gordon Ramsay restaurants

For each adult buying a meal from the A la Carte menu at Gordon Ramsay restaurants, a child can get a free main course from the Ramsay kids menu. Children can add a dessert for £3.50.

Hungry Horse

Every Monday from 12pm, kids eat for £1 at Hungry Horse pubs when their main is ordered with an adult meal.

Some options are available for £1.50 with a paying adult.

Angus Steakhouse

Children (eight years old and under) can get a free meal with a paying adult at Angus Steakhouse.

This offer is available every day between 12pm and 5pm except on Saturdays at Bond Street and Oxford Circus restaurants.

Beefeater

Two kids under the age of 16 get a free breakfast at Beefeater with every adult breakfast purchased.

Bill’s

Up to two kids' meals can be claimed when an adult orders any main dish (breakfast, lunch or dinner) at Bill’s. This offer is not available on Saturdays and Sundays.

Brewers Fayre

Two kids under 16 can eat breakfast for free at Brewers Fayre pubs when an adult buys a breakfast.

Dobbies Garden Centre

Dobbies explains its kids eat free offer: "Enjoy a free children’s breakfast with any adult traditional or full breakfast or a free child’s hot meal or pick n mix lunch box with any adult main course".

The offer is available every day and includes a drink for each child. A £1 supplement applies for those choosing a kids roast dinner.

Budgeting for Christmas gifts

Dunelm

Kids get a free mini deal at any Pausa Café in Dunelm when you spend £4 or more.

This deal is available all day every day, all year round.

Franco Manca

Children under 12 receive a free pizza for every full-priced adult main meal in selected pizzerias.

This offer is valid all year round.

Future Inns

At Future Inns, kids under 5 eat for free with any meal bought by an adult (including breakfast, lunch and dinner).

Heathrow Airport

Heathrow Airport is offering a kids eat free offer which will run during the festive period from December 20 until January 5, 2025.

When an adult buys a meal from the main menu at the participating restaurants, kids can eat for free.

IKEA

There is no specific Christmas deal at IKEA but kids can get a meal for 95p every day from 11am and the offer lasts all year.

Las Iguanas

If you download the My Iguanas app, kids can claim a free niños meal every time you visit.

OK Diners

All day every day a child under 10 years old can eat for free at most OK Diners restaurants across the UK.

You must choose a meal from the children’s menu and the offer is only valid when an adult buys a main course from the a la carte menu.

Premier Inn

Two children under the age of 16 eat breakfast for free when an adult buys a Premier Inn breakfast or a meal deal.

Preto

You can download a voucher from the Preto website and show it to a member of staff to claim a free meal for your child. 

The voucher is valid every weekday from 4pm and every weekend, all day.

The offer is open to children up to 10 years old and it's a maximum of one child per one full paying adult.

Purezza

Children under the age of 10 get free pizza at Purezza all year round.

Sainsbury’s

Kids can enjoy a hot main meal or lunch bag for £1 with the purchase of an adult hot main meal from £5.20 in a Sainsbury's café.

Available every day from 11:30am until cafés close.

Sizzling Pub & Grill

The Kids Eat for £1 deal is available from 12pm during the school holidays but it's available from 3pm Monday to Friday outside of school holidays.

The offer is available when you buy an adult main meal.

The Real Greek

Kids eat free every Sunday at The Real Greek when £10 is spent on an adult meal.

Whitbread Inns

Two kids under 16 can get a free breakfast at Whitbread Inns with every paying adult.
