A road in Romsey will temporarily close to allow for repair works to take place.

The B3084 will be shut between its junctions with Lockerley Road and Hatt Lane.

The closure is to allow Network Rail to carry out repairs.

The road will be closed from 12am to 8am on Saturday, May 17.

An alternative route will be set up via Hat Hill, B3084, Kimbridge Lane, A3057 and A30.

The closure is expected to last only until Sunday, May 18, but Hampshire County Council has issued a six-month order to accommodate any unexpected delays.

The council's order falls under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
