A BREATHTAKING fireworks and special effects display over Cunard’s three Queens will still go ahead even though the Red Arrows will not perform.
Organisers say the show will go on regardless and hope as many people as possible will line Southampton’s historic waterfront for the spectacle.
Within the hour the iconic Red Arrows display at 6.20pm- which was going to be a city first- had to be cancelled due to dismal weather conditions.
But the Daily Echo can reveal the fireworks show will still end a day of Jubilee celebrations in the city.
The show will start at 10.20pm above Cunard's Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria which are all docked in the city.
Good viewing points include Mayflower Park where a Daily Echo backed free family extravaganza is taking place.
The line up tonight includes Red Glory at 6.40pm, Charley Macauly at 7.20pm, En Masse at 8pm, Rufus Stone at 8.45pm and Artful & Ridney featuring renowned Artful Dodger at 9.30pm. The three Queens will leave the Docks in formation at 11pm tonight.
