Southampton Water will be invaded by a Royal Navy assault warship later this month as part of the city’s Boat Show.
HMS Bulwark will sail up the Solent on September 22 for a three-day visit to the PSP Southampton Boat Show.
Visitors will be able to get on board the vessel on September 23, 24 and 25.
HMS Bulwark is part of the Albion class – the UK’s newest class of amphibious assault warships.
HMS Bulwark’s commanding officer, Captain Alex Burton, said: “I am absolutely delighted to have this opportunity to present HMS Bulwark at this year’s PSP Southampton Boat Show, and we look forward to welcoming the show’s visitors on board the Royal Navy’s future Flag Ship.
“I can promise you a fantastic tour of one of the country’s most modern warships, and a chance to meet some of the finest sailors at sea today and, of course, our Royal Marines, many of whom are recently returned from operations. It will be a high point of your visit.”
The PSP Southampton Boat Show runs from September 16-25 at Mayflower Park. Tickets cost from £16 in advance or £20 on the gate. Ring 0871 230 7140 to book.
