ANOTHER protest against Israel’s attacks on Gaza was due to take place in Southampton today.
The demonstration, organised by the Muslim Council of Southampton, was due to take place outside West Quay shopping centre from 11am.
More than 500 demonstrators brought the city centre to a standstill last Saturday in a noisy but peaceful protest.
Muslim Council of Southampton chairman Dr Redwan El-Khayat said: “As the civilian death toll in Gaza has exceeded 1,000 in fewer than three weeks, the response by the British Government has been weak and totally unacceptable.
“Any further loss of innocent lives must be avoided in the interests of regional peace and international stability.”
