THE world’s most famous liner, Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) will leave Southampton for the last time on Tuesday, November 11. After 41 years of service the famous liner is set to become a floating hotel and shopping centre in Dubai and Southampton will be seeing her off in style. The QE2 will be given a massive send-off and you can be part of this historic occasion.
Come and say goodbye to the QE2 in style BUSINESS Southampton has teamed up with City Champion Red Funnel to offer you a unique opportunity to join in the farewell celebrations onboard Red Jet Hi-Speed catamaran, ‘Red Jet 4’.
An afternoon sailing will take place from 1.30-3.30pm, and will provide a unique opportunity to view the Royal Navy sail past the famous liner and the RAF fly past, both in daylight. The evening sailing, from 7.00-9.00pm, will allow you to witness the spectacular farewell fireworks from the water as the QE2 sets sail for the last time.
Both sailings will include a selection of complimentary drinks, canapés and a buffet, along with open viewing from the top deck of Red Jet 4 (weather permitting), and is suitable for all ages. This is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, to witness what will be a notable event in the city’s history.
