A fascinating wedding took place at The Montagu Arms at the weekend – and it is not what you expect!
Labrador, Reggie, and Labradoodle, Luna, became the first-ever dogs to “tie the knot” at the dog-friendly hotel in a one-of-a-kind wedding.
To celebrate their first-of-its-kind event, the New Forest hotel have launched their new “Puptials” package in hopes to use this spectacular event to promote more dog weddings in the future.

General manager at The Montagu Arms, Davide Santocono, was a big fan of the event, saying he was “delighted to have hosted the first dog wedding at the hotel and first in the New Forest.”
The new package introduces many activities on the day that mirrors a regular wedding to exactly how a dog would want one.
This includes luxury accommodation, plenty of belly rubs, biscuits, and a glass of posh “Pooch Dog” wine with many tasty treats.
Davide added: “It was a wonderfully fun day, with all the little details of a traditional wedding, just with a few more wagging tails.”
Breakfast is also provided in the package, with morning tea and coffee served daily, while dogs can enjoy a hamper including a pet bed, water bowl and a toy.

Dogs can also experience a 60 or 90-minute “signature portrait experience” with Dogs in Focus photography.
The special occasion had been a long time coming for Reggie and Luna, whose love story began in 2019, and through the muddy puddles of Dibden, the memorable walkies and adventures together, Reggie’s owner, Claire, believed it was about time to tie the knot.
“We wanted to celebrate them properly, and it was such a lovely excuse to get everyone together. We’re regulars at The Montagu Arms and it felt like the perfect setting to tie the knot,” Claire said.
Luna’s owner, Emma, also treasured the special day, adding: “Luna walking down the aisle to Reggie was incredibly sweet.”
Although Reggie and Luna were the first dogs to officially tie the knot at The Montagu Arms, the New Forest hotel hopes their package will ensure they are not the last.
