A solo sailor is making a final fundraising push after a 2,000-nautical-mile charity voyage.
Paul Smith, a retired financial planner of Lymington, spent 115 days sailing alone around Britain and Ireland in support of Alzheimer’s Research UK.
He returned to his home port on August 4 after completing the journey aboard his 32-foot yacht, Zēteō.
Mr Smith said: "I wanted to do something difficult enough that people might take notice and support the search for a cure.

"Completing the circumnavigation was a huge challenge, but the real purpose was always to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s Research UK."
To date, he has raised more than £12,500, including Gift Aid, and is now just £2,500 short of his £15,000 goal.
