The Environment Agency (EA) says it is not involved in the cleanup of a large diesel spill on a Southampton road.
Thomas Lewis Way was closed in both directions between the Lawn Road and St Denys Road junctions following the spill yesterday morning.
An HGV spilt up to 580 litres of fuel across two miles of the city's road network.
The HGV was leaving a yard on Imperial Road when a raising bollard punctured its fuel tank.

The EA say they are aware of the clean-up but are not involved.
An EA spokesperson said: “We are aware of the diesel spill in Southampton and the ongoing clean-up operation.
"Our officers are currently not involved; however, should the agencies dealing with the spill raise concerns about potential pollution of nearby watercourses, we would investigate and take appropriate measures to minimise any environmental impact.”
The Echo understands that the EA does not have concerns that the spill has led to an environmental incident.
