A speeder caught at 100mph on a busy motorway has been given a reduced ban.
Lee David’s business could “face failure” if he was given a long driving disqualification, Southampton Magistrates’ Court heard.
The 65-year-old was caught driving at 100mph on the M27 eastbound between junctions nine and 10.
He was 30mph above the national speed limit – 70mph – during the incident on November 23, 2023.
More than a year since he committed the offence he appeared before the city’s magistrates’ court on June 5.

David, of Bryn Carnau and Pontardawe, Swansea, pleaded guilty to a charge of speeding.
He was banned from driving for three months and given six points on his licence.
He must pay a fine of £386.
The court heard: “A driving disqualification would cause exceptional hardship to the defendant in his operation and management of his business; and to the employees in the business, some of whom would face redundancy as a result of the failure of the business.”
