Passengers travelling between the Isle of Wight and the mainland can now enjoy faster service in the ReFuel cafés.

Red Funnel has rolled out new point-of-sale systems across its vehicle ferry fleet as part of a partnership with Newport-based technology provider WRS.

The new electronic point-of-sale (EPOS) systems aim to speed up transactions and improve the overall customer experience.

Fran Collins, chief executive of Red Funnel, said: "We’re delighted to be working with WRS to improve service in our ReFuel cafés.

"The new payment systems are increasing the speed and efficiency of service, helping us deliver a quicker, more seamless experience for every customer."

The ReFuel cafés offer a variety of food and drink options, many of which are sourced from Isle of Wight producers.

Red Funnel said the company is also looking at further sustainability improvements, including reducing single-use plastics and adopting more environmentally friendly packaging.
