Thousands gathered in the sunshine for Silverlake MotoFest 2025 on Saturday.

The annual event was hosted at the home of Eastleigh Football Club, giving people of all ages the chance to get up close and even sample retro and custom-built cars.

A family zone and food stalls were also accompanied by live music and interviews, as Saints FC legends Matt Le Tissier and James Beattie took to the stage to talk all things cars, as well as football.

The event was also raising money for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Service with event director, Jay Jones, telling the Echo MotoFest had been designed with a “strong emphasis on community.”

He said: “MotoFest is a community focused family fun day with a strong automotive theme.

“We’ve got local celebrities, and everyone’s out enjoying themselves in the sunshine, it’s a really good, fun day out for everyone.

“I host and attend loads of events like this but there’s always a nice feeling here and it’s something we hope is accessible to everyone.

“We have a strong emphasis on community, putting our foot forward and doing what’s right for the people.”

More than 5,000 people were expected to attend the event throughout the day with spectators basked in glorious sunshine.

He said: “The best car I’ve ever had is an Audi A4 convertible, that’s as far as I’ve gone with cars, but that was a retirement present to myself.

“I always wanted a car with no roof on it. It’s always been about sport for me but I’ve never been a big petrolhead.”

Lucy Butcher attended MotoFest on behalf of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance service, the event’s chosen charity.

She said: “A lot of people still don’t realise that we’re a charity.

“For us this is about engagement, community, and raising awareness of what we do but also telling people about our education programmes and engaging with local businesses too.

“With our air base move to Southampton Airport, it’s a great opportunity to have a chat to people.”
