A 22-day road closure has been announced to allow gas replacement works.
The closure will affect Albert Road in Hedge End between its junction with B3033 St John's Road and its junction with Albert Road Cemetery.
It will be in place 24 hours a day from July 7.
The works are being carried out by FPF Utilities.
The order allows for the closure to remain in place for up to six months, but the works are expected to be completed within 22 days.
An alternative route will be available via B3033 and Bursledon Road.
FPF Utilities has stated that reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises and that notice will be given to those directly affected.
