Traffic in Eastleigh has been brought to a "standstill" as road closures are in place following a double decker bus crashing into the River Itchen.

Closures are being enforced from the roundabout linking Chickenhall Lane and Bishopstoke Road as a heavy emergency service presence responds to the crash.

Some 17 children have been injured in the crash, as the bus was carrying Barton Peveril Sixth Form College students.

Five fire crews, an air ambulance, ambulance crews and police are all standing around the double decker Bluestar bus.
