An actor best known for his role in Harry Potter will headline a free community lecture.

Guy Henry, who starred as Pius Thicknesse, Minister for Magic in the final two Harry Potter films, will give a talk titled Messing About in Disguises at Ballard School, New Milton.

The event will take place at 7pm on July 1, in the school's performing arts centre and is free to attend for the public.

Guy is the next guest speaker in Ballard's community lecture series, an initiative aimed at sharing stories and insights from inspiring figures across various fields with the Ballard School community and the general public.

With a distinguished career spanning theatre, film, television, and radio, Guy is recognised for his portrayals of Henrik Hanssen in the BBC's Holby City and Grand Moff Tarkin in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

He is also a New Forest resident and a relief minibus driver for Ballard School.

Andrew McCleave, the headmaster of Ballard School, said: "We are fortunate to have an extraordinary wealth of talent within the Ballard family – across alumni, parents, staff, and friends of the school – and it is a pleasure to celebrate and share that.

"Guy’s talk promises to be very interesting and entertaining – perhaps even featuring a few behind-the-scenes stories from the iconic productions he has been part of.

"His connection to the local area, and to Ballard itself, makes this event even more special.

"We look forward to welcoming people from across the wider community to join us for the evening."
