Food lovers have an opportunity to ask their most burning questions at a free live show hosted by BBC Radio 4.

The Kitchen Cabinet will record an episode on Wednesday, July 16 at 7pm at the Point Theatre in Eastleigh.

Presented by Jay Rayner, the live show offers a chance for the audience to query a panel of experts on all aspects of food and cooking - from culinary conundrums to kitchen tips.

The show, renowned for its quick wit, will provide plenty of entertaining exchanges as well as useful information.

Culinary enthusiasts are being invited to be part of the live broadcast audience for free by applying for tickets online on the "Shows, Tours and Take Part" on the BBC's website.

Tickets are being dished out on a first-come, first-served basis, and upon ticket application, details are added to a waiting list.

Applicants who are successful will be informed by a text message, and the e-tickets will be emailed.

Unsuccessful applicants remain on the waiting list for any ticket cancellations.

As stated by the show's representatives: "We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people."

Doors open at 5.45pm but the show starts at 7 and is expected to run for an hour.

Listeners of BBC Radio 4's The Kitchen Cabinet can look forward to a lively and informative session, whether attending the event in person or tuning in once the episode is aired post-recording.

A spokesperson for the BBC said: "If there's anything you've ever wanted to know about food or cooking but didn't know whom to ask, read on.

"Come and be part of the audience for The Kitchen Cabinet, BBC Radio 4's culinary panel programme.

"You'll have the opportunity to pose your questions to panel of experts about anything and everything to do with food and drink whilst enjoying plenty of good-humoured conversation."

Hopeful watchers can apply for a maximum of two tickets per request, and any guests must be aged 10 or over, with under 18s being accompanied by an adult at all times.
