A woman was forced to come out of her house in the early hours of the morning on Saturday to pull an alleged thief out of her car.

At around 5.50am on June 21, a woman found a man trying to start her car's engine on Ashley Lane in Lymington.

Hampshire police say that she opened the door and pulled him out from the vehicle, before he then walked off towards Hare Lane.

According to officers, the man had a fresh wound above his eyebrow.

CCTV imagery has now been released of a man that police want to speak to in relation to the incident.

A spokesperson for Hampshire police said: "We’d like to speak to the man in the image about this incident. We know this isn’t the clearest picture but together with the image of his clothing, we’re hopeful someone will recognise him.
