Free burgers and prizes will be given out to mark the opening of a major American restaurant chain in Southampton.

Wendy's will open its doors at 17 Above Bar Street for the first time on July 10.

To celebrate the opening, the fast-food brand will give away free burgers to the first 50 customers, and one lucky visitor will win a year's supply for free.

An official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 11am, led by Sheriff of Southampton, Councillor Pat Evemy.
