Police are appealing for witnesses after a six-year-old boy was grabbed on the wrist by an unknown man in what has been described as a “suspicious incident.”

Between 12.30pm and 1pm on Sunday, June 22, a man approached the child in the area of Alverstoke Creek near Jackie Spencer's Bridge, Gosport, and grabbed the boy's wrist.

It was reported the man left the area when the boy's mother shouted her son's name.

The man is described as Asian, believed to be between 28 and 30-years-old, about 5ft 6ins tall, and of slim build.

He had short black hair and was wearing a baseball cap, navy top, dark trousers and was carrying a black rucksack.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “If anyone has any information about the identity of this man or the incident, please call 101 quoting reference 44250274638.”
