Older people are being supported to stay mobile and independent through affordable foot care services.

Age Concern Hampshire is running regular clinics for residents aged over 50, offering toenail cutting and foot health checks from fully qualified practitioners, with a focus on maintaining mobility and preventing complications.

Una Davey, head of commercial at Age Concern Hampshire, said: "Our Foot Care Clinics provide a safe, professional, and affordable service for older people who might otherwise go without vital foot care.

"With living expenses rising, we are committed to making essential foot care as affordable and accessible as possible."

The clinics operate every six weeks and aim to relieve some of the financial burden faced by older people, with research indicating that nearly 30 per cent struggle to afford everyday healthcare expenses.

Age Concern Hampshire believes that by making basic foot care more accessible, the clinics can help improve wellbeing and reduce serious risks such as infections and falls.
