Plans have been approved to redevelop one of the county's oldest fire stations, after previous efforts to rebuild it were scrapped due to cost.
Redbridge Fire Station will be renovated by the new and approved proposals, which will see it be given a full modernisation, a decontamination room and new cladding.
The fire station, built in the 1960s, also serves as a base for local police.

"The refurbishment will bring the fire station up to a higher standard and a nicer base to work in.
"It will include fire decontamination rooms where crews can decontaminate in a sectioned area of the station.
"I’m pleased we are now at last moving forward with the project."
As part of the plans, one of the garage bays will be demolished, the frontage will be re-clad, and new security fencing will be installed to the perimeter of the site
