HMS Collingwood field gunners have completed a public demonstration run.
The run on June 18, is in preparation for the annual Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) field gun competition.
The event showcased the crew's skills as they near the culmination of their intensive training programme that began in May.
Spectators witnessed both a demonstration run and a competitive timed run that simulated the full race conditions the crew will face during the RNRMC field gun competition on June 28.
The run home (Image: Keith Woodland) Vice captain, leading hand Karl Routledge, said: "The crew put in an exemplary effort in today’s run, especially in this heat, I am proud of what we have managed to accomplish.
"This public run gave us the perfect opportunity to showcase, to Command and the sponsors, the drills we have spent time and effort learning.
"With only another week left till the competition I have no doubt that we will perfect these drills and will put in some fantastic runs come next Friday and Saturday."
The HMS Collingwood crew is competing for the coveted Brickwoods Trophy and will commence their final track week training on June 23, following the public demonstration.
The event provides an essential opportunity for the crew to experience the atmosphere and support they will encounter during the main competition, with personnel from across HMS Collingwood encouraged to attend and show their support.
