Southampton has been named one of the most dangerous places to drive.
New data shows the city recorded 47 collisions per 1,000 registered vehicles, ranking joint fourth outside of London, alongside Southend-on-Sea.
Shahzad Ali, CEO of Get Licensed, said: "CCTV is crucial for surveying public spaces to detect crime, and it can also help to prevent crime by analysing findings.
"With driver error or reaction being the main cause of road accidents, CCTV can help assess situations and provide reliable evidence where witnesses may be unable to.
"CCTV operators for local councils are essential for identifying accidents in real-time and providing recordings to the police."
Brighton and Hove topped the list with 62 collisions per 1,000 vehicles.
Other high-risk areas included Nottingham, Blackpool, and Luton.
Birmingham, Liverpool, Bradford, and Newcastle also made the top ten.
The figures are based on analysis by Get Licensed, a company specialising in SIA CCTV operator training.
