A council has issued a clear warning after scam QR codes have been seen stuck to parking machines in the New Forest.
New Forest District Council posted on social media to strongly say that it does not use QR codes for parking payments.
Scammers often place these codes for users to scan in order to bait them into "paying" for their parking on a scam website, which could steal their information, charge more money and result in drivers getting parking tickets.
The local authority for the New Forest confirmed that officers check their ticket machines "daily" and that they have "recently removed fake QR codes" from some car parks.

It urged drivers to report any scam codes.
A spokesperson for New Forest District Council said: "We are aware of scammers placing these codes on ticket machines in other local authority areas on the south coast.
"All our ticket machines (except Taddiford Gap car park) accept coins.
"You also have the option to pay by card (contactless in every car park), pay on the RingGo app or ring the number shown on the ticket machine to speak to one of their operators."
