A Turkish kebab restaurant in Southampton has unveiled a brand-new look, a little more than a year after first opening.
Afiyet Oğlum opened on Burgess Road, Swaythling, in February 2024, with the kebab restaurant launching it’s revamped exterior and new name, Sultan, on Wednesday, June 11.
The eatery is owned by the same family that runs Uni Kebab on the same road, with Isaak Gezer running the business for his family.
Speaking to the Echo, Isaak said the growth of the business had been “faster than expected,” with the company’s rebrand now complete.
He said: “When we originally launched last year, I had dropped out of university just before my courses began and decided to take a big risk with my partner, Sandra.

“To make sure we got it right, I intentionally stayed in London several times, ordering from a dozen reputable restaurants every night to see how they did everything: packaging, food quality, customer experience, the lot.
“Our menu is small, simple and committed to gyros, featuring Greek-style chicken gyros wraps and boxes under the clear motto, ‘Fast, Bold, Fresh.’
“Opening a bricks-and-mortar location is a milestone, but it’s only the beginning.
“Our mission is to build a brand that delivers quality, speed and bold flavour consistently.”
