AA Traffic News is now reporting that delays are easing on the M27: "Delays of eight minutes and delays easing on M27 westbound between J9 A27 Segensworth Link Road (Segensworth / Fareham) and J5 A335 Stoneham Way (Southampton Airport / Eastleigh). Average speed 15mph."

The traffic congestion is as a result of two lane closures in place - both ways - for resurfacing works between J5 and J8.
A spokesperson for AA Traffic News added: "Two lanes closed and speed restriction of 50mph due to resurfacing work on M27 both ways between J5 A335 Stoneham Way (Southampton Airport / Eastleigh) and J8 A3024 (Bursledon / Hamble). There will be overnight slip road closures. replacing the concrete surface."
