Two XL Bullies in "unsuitable living conditions" have been seized by police in the New Forest.

While out on a job, officers discovered two XL Bullies suspected to be unregistered and living in unsuitable conditions.

This was on Wednesday, June 11, at St Contest Way, Marchwood.

The dogs have been seized out of concern for their welfare, and police will be speaking to their owner about what will happen next.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "Two XL Bullies were seized from an address in St Contest Way, Marchwood, after police attended on June 11.

"This was due to concerns for the living conditions and welfare of the dogs.

"Officers will be speaking with the owner to discuss next steps."

Since February 1, 2024, owning the XL Bully breed has become a criminal offence in England and Wales unless owners have an exemption certificate.

Additional restrictions include keeping them on a lead and muzzled in public, and it is illegal to breed, sell, or abandon them.
