A pub quiz has raised £600 for a children's music charity.

The event took place at the Sir Joseph Paxton pub, near Titchfield, on June 11, and the donations will help fund music therapy sessions for 25 children.

The charity behind this initiative, George’s Rockstars, was established by Amy and Craig O'Shaughnessy, in memory of their son George, who sadly died from leukaemia.

Music played a pivotal role in George's life, providing him with fun and relaxation during his treatments.

They hope to extend their support to every children's hospital ward in the UK.

The quiz night was part of the fundraising efforts of Dave Roseby, the pub landlord, who is set to take on the Three Peaks Challenge in September to further support George’s Rockstars.

The quiz was hosted by Nation Radio South presenter, Gary Parker, with 55 people attending the event.

Gary said: "I want to thank everyone who supported the quiz and raffle and anyone who donated raffle prizes.

"It was a great evening and I’m really pleased to support George’s Rockstars again as they do a fantastic job and help so many local families."

The charity expressed their gratitude for the support.

Amy said: "Gary and Dave raised over £500 for George’s Rockstars from their quiz in October and another £600 this time.

"Together, the quizzes will help 45 children and bring comfort, connection, and smiles to them during some of their most difficult and frightening times in hospital.

"This is fantastic news and we can’t thank them enough."

Dave is also raising funds for Abby’s Heroes through his Three Peaks Challenge.

Gary, who owns a digital marketing and social media company and hosts the Early Breakfast show on Nation Radio South, has raised more than £24,000 for various causes across the south, including Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service and the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
