For two consecutive nights, a rare strawberry moon has been seen in the skies above Hampshire.

It’s the first time since 2006 that the full moon has appeared uncommonly low in the night sky, with the name ‘strawberry moon’ coming from the indigenous Americans, to mark the beginning of the strawberry harvest.

The strawberry moon has an unusual reddish colour due to its position so close to the horizon.

Experts believe that the strawberry moon, which is also referred to as the rose moon, won't appear this low again until 2043.

Celestial experts have said the strawberry moon symbolises letting go of repressed energy through dance.

Camera Club members from across the county have shared their photos of the unique super moon, with people snapping photos from the likes of Eastleigh and Fareham.
