Plans that looked to turn the floors above a city centre hairdressers into a living space have been withdrawn.

Gillian Reilly of Hair and Beauty Southampton at 6 Hanover Buildings originally submitted the plans to change the use of just the upper floors of the building from commercial, business and service to residential.

While Hanover Buildings is described as a "purpose built commercial" property in the application form, the new living space would have been used for "ancillary accommodation".

The salon would have remained open downstairs unchanged.

Slight internal alterations would have been required to facilitate the change, including the "removal and addition of stud walls".
