Delays are now quickly easing, with Google Maps reporting setbacks of only 5 minutes heading westbound on the M27.
The A3024, which connects to the M27 at Junction 4, is also facing 13 minutes of delays, according to Google Maps.
Delays of 10 minutes remain on the westbound carriageway of the M27 between Junction 9 and 5.
Traffic cameras from National Highways show that queues are still present.

Elsewhere on Southampton's motorway system, the southbound carriageway of the M271 is facing delays of 5 minutes.

AA Traffic Map is reporting 'severe' delays of 14 minutes, also noting that these are still increasing, heading westbound on the M27 between Junction 9 and 5.
The average speed of traffic is currently believed to be 15mph.
