A school is hosting a vibrant colour run in a bid to raise money for new changing rooms.

On July 17, nearly 1,000 students and 200 staff members at Ringwood School are set to take part in the 3.5-mile run on the grounds.

Along the way, they will be showered with coloured powder at five different stations, leaving them "covered head to toe in a rainbow of happiness by the finish line."

The school is taking care to ensure the powder is non-toxic and eco-friendly, and a clean-up team will tidy up after the event.

"It’s a fantastic way to unite our school community, promote fitness and fun, and raise funds for much-needed improvements to changing facilities for our students."

The school is seeking volunteers to marshal the event and ensure the safety of participants.

This year, the event is supported by Anytime Fitness, who will provide medals and lead warm-up sessions.

Elliot Burton, club manager, said: "We are delighted to be involved in this fantastic event for the community in Ringwood."
