The identity of a woman's body of found in the New Forest has been confirmed by the Met Police.
The force has confirmed that the body found near Bolderwood on Saturday was that of Yajaira Castro Mendez, who was reported missing from London on May 31.
The A31 was closed between Stoney Cross and Picket Post on Saturday, June 7, after police discovered Ms Castro Mendez's body.
She was reported missing to the Metropolitan Police on May 31, after leaving her home in Ilford on May 29.
Following extensive enquiries, detectives have now confirmed the body found on the A31 is that of Yajaira Castro Mendez.
In a statement, acting detective chief inspector, Sean Beasley, said: “This is a very sad development in the investigation and our thoughts are very much with Yajaira’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

“Officers have been working around the clock and continue to investigate the circumstances.
“There are still crime scenes in place and we’re working closely with Hampshire Police.
“We thank the community for their patience as we carry out our investigation and we continue to appeal to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to please come forward.”
On Friday, June 6, Juan Toledo, 51, who lives in south-east London, appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court, charged with her murder.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said Juan Toledo will next appear in court at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, June 10.
